I grew up in central Illinois the oldest of four sons of Robert and Louise Freeman. I was first introduced to watercolors by a high school art teacher that painted really wild city scenes. Intense colors, exaggerated angles, wind whipped clothes and trees. A real sense of motion. I always wanted to be able to convey some sense of energy in my work. After high school I was sidetracked by the usual distractions of that era and eventually got into the HVAC industry and worked in that field for 20 years. While living in Durango CO in the mid 90’s I started painting again, took some classes and workshops and soon began selling my work. |
